Causation - An idea
Life is too alive and quick. And too whole. Even at the level of perception of ‘an incident’ it can never ever be truly known why a thing happens. The only real explanation for why anything happens is because the sky is blue or because the rock surface feels hard. But the mind loves to know why, how, who, when ....and then it creates/imagines a whole universe of reasons and then means to control those reasons...it builds a whole myriad of beliefs and emotions and words and thoughts and other people to agree with it or oppose it....all of this hinges on the single focus of interest - I am a body which is separate and more special than the other things that I see/hear/smell/touch at the same time as I see/hear/smell/touch as this body. This loss of objectivity and too much attention on the me which is assumed to be this body creates a whole universe of time and space to try to keep this body safe and continuously happy...a task that is obviously impossible to accomplish...so as long as the brain sees this body and this race as more special than a blade of grass or a cloud....it will go on about many many ideas of causation etc....a self-referencing stress fuelled endless loop...However, outside of causality and intention and all other lofty ideas is the realm of presence. Now. Whatever happens now is happening. Once it is over it needs no more thought. This is the realm of faith. Trust. Wholeness. Life’s ability to run on its own without human intention and ideas. A deep love that knows that it is always being looked after. ‘It’ here is somehow a diluted flowy image no longer me this person body etc. ...this person keeps disappearing so many times in the day and night...perhaps it’s not as important or as constant as we ‘think’ it is...
