Where Is The Separation?

When I look
My field of vision is filled completely
There are no separate objects floating around
There is just one expanse containing all
When I hear
There are all kind of sounds that fill me
It is not possible to even distinguish between different sounds
So where is the separation?
Why can't I see it?
Why can't I hear it?
