When I Become You
When I relate to something
I still imagine it as separate from me
And I understand it in relationship to me
And everything I experience about it is only in terms of myself
I engage in memory and expectation
And I can only know the other to the extent of my current learned knowledge
But when I realize that at the core of myself and the other is a common space
A common indefinable identity
I am able to intuitively sense so much more than I already know
I then don't relate to the other
I simply become the other
When I relate to something
I still imagine it as separate from me
And I understand it in relationship to me
And everything I experience about it is only in terms of myself
I engage in memory and expectation
And I can only know the other to the extent of my current learned knowledge
But when I realize that at the core of myself and the other is a common space
A common indefinable identity
I am able to intuitively sense so much more than I already know
I then don't relate to the other
I simply become the other
