There Are Only Events, No people
Our simple experience of life is to witness events
Events that explode in our consciousness
In all their splendor or simplicity
The entire event is witnessed at the same time
A singular burst of energy
Then comes the translation of the event
In which there are thoughts about tearing apart the event
And a mental value system is engaged
To find out the reasons for the event
And to ascribe responsibility for the event in terms of people
Further, the mind engages in more past mental stories to relate the current events heroes and villains to images of past heroes and villains
Resulting in stories of guilt, regret, fear, hate and love
But the event came and went
And left no real traces of itself in any way
But the mental fabrications labor on
Trying to capture and hold on to that which can never be captured
