The Absolute Shift

As long as the leaf identifies with being a leaf, it can never become a tree
It can work very hard at becoming a tree
It can try to perfect itself within the framework of being a leaf
It can discuss with so called other leaves about attaining the exalted stature of becoming a tree someday
It may become a better leaf but will still remain a leaf
But the absolute shift or freedom is not in becoming a tree one day
Because that day will never come
The shift is in the sudden realization that the leaf was always the tree
That there is only the tree
And that the leaf had never ever existed independently
And that every waiting and searching was entirely within the false premise of being a leaf
Once the false framework is discarded, there is nothing left to find
