Can You Let Go Your Image?
Everywhere we look
Life is full of flux and change
Yet the mind desires something solid
So it can take a few solid objects
And weave a story around them
But the objects are solid and fixed as images only
Every sound, every vision
Evokes a solid image in the mind
Including the image that I have of myself
The mind is forced to change this image every now and then
Forced by the constant sculpting hands of nature
Yet the image continues
Like a ghost that constantly judges and seeks bolstering
The image stays
Can we live outside of having an image?
Can you let go your image?
Everywhere we look
Life is full of flux and change
Yet the mind desires something solid
So it can take a few solid objects
And weave a story around them
But the objects are solid and fixed as images only
Every sound, every vision
Evokes a solid image in the mind
Including the image that I have of myself
The mind is forced to change this image every now and then
Forced by the constant sculpting hands of nature
Yet the image continues
Like a ghost that constantly judges and seeks bolstering
The image stays
Can we live outside of having an image?
Can you let go your image?
