Beyond Myself
When I am referencing to myself as this body
When I am worried about its welfare in worldly terms
Then how can I explain my way of living to the poor and destitute
How can I sit with the one who has no limbs?
How can I see the misery of the ones who have no food to eat?
If I am to sit with them
Knowing that I can never take away their woes at the level of body
Then I must meet them and myself at a level which is common to us all
There has to be a different referencing
Since God cannot be cruel
There has to be a bigger and kinder identity
Which needs no work or time to fix itself?
And yet all these people are nothing but my own concepts
Their pains and fears only ever mine
As a body I am or will be in time all bodies and their concepts
So, as I go deeper
I leave behind all the concepts of separation
To sense something else
Which is same always
And to which every concept I have bows
Where there is no waiting anymore
And the concepts cannot be found
As the seeing looks beyond
When I am referencing to myself as this body
When I am worried about its welfare in worldly terms
Then how can I explain my way of living to the poor and destitute
How can I sit with the one who has no limbs?
How can I see the misery of the ones who have no food to eat?
If I am to sit with them
Knowing that I can never take away their woes at the level of body
Then I must meet them and myself at a level which is common to us all
There has to be a different referencing
